Adoption Social Worker

Pam is an integral member of the ARC Adoption Enquiries team, welcoming and providing valuable information to potential adopters at the very beginning of their special journeys.

Joining ARC in early 2021, Pam brought with her a wealth of experience of working with children and care giving families, from supporting the beginning of a child’s journey and working directly with foster carers, to supporting transitions to adoptive families.

Interestingly, it was Pam’s former career in owning a hairdressing business, and doing voluntary work with older members of the community, that led to her embarking on a social care pathway and qualifying as a Social Worker at Northumbria University in 2000. Once qualified, Pam worked as a Safeguarding Social Worker for 14 years in Newcastle, Northumberland and Gateshead Local Authorities, before spending a further 7 years with Gateshead as a Fostering Social Worker.

Pam is a mother of two sons, has three beautiful grandchildren and is also owner of a beloved dog Milo, a Cockerpoo. Not just a pretty face, he rings his bell when he needs to go outside. He loves playing with Pam’s grandchildren whether it is in the garden or in the woods and having a dip in the water (which often means mud).
