Training Dates

The very first moment you consider becoming a parent via adoption is the start of your adoption journey; an exploration of whether it is the right option for you, and the steps that you will need to take as you build your family.

As part of the support that you will receive throughout the adoption process and beyond, you will benefit from various training from the ARC Adoption team, such as: Stage 1 and Stage 2 training, Playfulness, Acceptance, Curiosity, Empathy (PACE) training, Early Permanence and Connected by Adoption training, all of which will help you and those close to you, to prepare for you becoming a parent and being as informed as possible for the journey ahead.

Planned 2026 training dates:

  • Stage 1 Training - 10 and 11 Jan | 14 and 15 March | 9 and 10 May | 27 and 28 June | 5 and 6 Sept | 7 and 8 Nov
  • Stage 2 Training - 17 and 18 Jan | 7 and 8 March | 16 and 17 May | 11 and 12 July | 12 and 13 Sept | 14 and 15 Nov
  • PACE Training - 31 Jan | 28 March | 23 May | 18 July | 19 Sept | 20 Nov
  • Early Permanence - 7 and 8 Feb | 11 and 12 June | 8 and 9 Oct
Please note that while these dates are scheduled - all training dates will be discussed and confirmed directly with families who start the adoption process with ARC.

Other events for adopters and potential adopters

As well as training, the ARC Adoption team also holds a range of additional workshops and information events for potential and approved adopters. Please visit our events page to check out what we have coming up and for details of how to book a space.

  • Early Permanence

    Early Permanence

With Early Permanence adoption, prospective adopters are also temporarily approved as foster carers so they can provide early stability and continuity of care to a baby, child or siblings who they may go on to adopt.

  • Matching panel

    Matching panel

Once the family finding process is complete the match will need to be agreed formally by the adoption panel for the child’s agency. If approval is recommended by the adoption panel for the match, the child’s adoption agency decision maker then makes the final decision.
