Connected by adoption

During the adoption process and beyond, adopters often receive and benefit from the support of friends and family. With this in mind, the professional and experienced team at ARC Adoption deliver specialist Connected by Adoption training to family and friends of adopters who have chosen to become parents via adoption.

The aim of ARC Adoption’s specialist Connected by Adoption training is to help raise awareness and understanding of the adoption process, the needs of adopted children and how family and friends can offer the most effective help and support to their friends or relatives who are on their way to becoming adoptive parents.

Please note that considerations will be made as to whether adoption training will take place virtually or face to face in line with government guidance at the time.

If you would like to find out more about ARC Adoption's Connected by Adoption training and upcoming dates, or for any other queries related to the adoption process, please get in touch with us. You can call the team at ARC Adoption on 0191 516 6466 or click the button below to submit an enquiry, and we'll get back to you as soon as possible.

Once the family finding process is complete the match will need to be agreed formally by the adoption panel for the child’s agency. If approval is recommended by the adoption panel for the match, the child’s adoption agency decision maker then makes the final decision.

Fostering for adoption means that young children, usually babies, are placed at a young age with approved potential adopters who would also be approved temporary foster carers whilst the family court decides on the child’s future.
