How long does the UK adoption process take?

The adoption process usually takes no longer than six months for you to become approved as an adoptive parent, and ARC has an excellent track record of efficiently approving adopters. 

It is a little more difficult however, to predict how long it will take to have a child placed with you, because it is important to identify the right match for your family. For some adopters, they can be matched immediately following approval, but for some it takes longer.

Our team matches their families with children in the care of local authorities based around England. We have particularly close partnerships with Regional Adoption Agencies including Cumbria Adoption and Adopt Coast to Coast, who we continually work with to identify matches as early as possible. We also work closely with Adoption Tees Valley and Adopt North East.
