Family Support Worker

Caroline joined ARC Adoption as a Family Support Worker in Jan 2020, bringing with her a wealth of experience and knowledge from working in school and nursery environments.  During her time in these educational settings she worked with other professionals, supporting children and families with a range of needs or challenges, relating to emotions, behaviours, special educational needs, disabilities and attachment.

As a Family Support Worker at ARC, Caroline provides one-on-one advice and varied support to a range of adoptive families, and is involved in the development and delivery of group workshops and training. As a trained Theraplay practitioner, she enjoys seeing how it can make such a positive impact on families she works with. Her biggest achievement at ARC to date though, is establishing the Children and Young People’s Group with colleague Lauren – something they are both very passionate about. It has been a great success since it started in 2021, with children benefitting from a safe space to come together and connect, have fun, and explore thoughts and feelings on a regular basis. It has been a pleasure for Caroline to see the children grow, develop confidence and build new skills together.

In her spare time Caroline enjoys spending time with her family and friends, and being outdoors is her happy place. You can often find Caroline paddle boarding down at the beach or climbing up a mountain – two things she likes to do to look after her mental health.
